Neelie Kroes ger tydligt besked om 700 MHz i tal hos RSPC

Utan att föregå resultatet av Myndigheten för radio och TV:s utredning av 700 MHz-bandet så kan det konstateras att EU-kommissionär Neelie Kroes gav en väldigt tydlig fingervisning om vad EU tycker i frågan, när hon i onsdags talade inför Radio Spectrum Policy Group, RSPC i Bryssel.

I sitt tal var hon tydlig med att det finns ett beslut om att låta både mobila och broadcastingtjänster dela på 700 MHz-spektrumet och att hon inte ville se en fragmentisering av detta beslut bland EU:s medlemsstater.

”As you know, the 2012 World Radiocommunications Conference decided to have both mobile and broadcasting services co-allocated in the 700 Megahertz band by 2015. I want to find a sustainable long-term solution for this band – that is my commitment. There is huge potential in international harmonisation. So I want to avoid a fragmented approach, balance the interests of incumbent and new users, and deliver the greatest possible benefits for Europe, economically and socially”, sade hon i sitt tal.
