EFTA utreder Telenor Norge för konkurrensbrott

Den Europeiska frihandelssammanslutningen, EFTA, har efter påstötningar från konkurrenter på den norska marknaden inlett en granskning av påstådd prisklämning. Det framgår av ett pressmeddelande från i går.

Utredningen gäller marginalprisklämning inom mobila datatjänster till slutkund, samt bundling av mobila teletjänster.

Så här skriver EFTA i sitt pressmeddelande:

”The Authority will examine whether Telenor has charged prices resulting in an illegal margin squeeze on its competitors in respect of the provision of retail mobile data services and of bundles of retail mobile telecommunications services. The Authority also intends to investigate whether clauses in Telenor's retail agreements concluded with customers for the supply of mobile telecommunications services give rise to market foreclosure concerns.
Such conduct, if it has occurred, is likely to have had a negative impact on consumer welfare, in particular by impeding market entry and expansion, thus limiting consumer choice and the prospect of lower retail prices and increased product innovation.”
