Minskad omsättning för finska telekomjätten Elisa

TeliaSoneras största konkurrent i Finland, Elisa, redovisade idag sina Financial Statements för helåret och för det fjärde kvartalet 2009. Från statistiken kan man bland annat avläsa att omsättningen sjönk både för helåret 2009 till 1 430 miljoner euro (1 485) och för det fjärde kvartalet, till 365 miljoner euro (372).

Resultatet för helåret förbättrades dock och uppgick till 484 miljoner euro (472). Det fjärde kvartalet landade resultatet på 121 miljoner euro (129).

Elisas vd Veli-Matti Mattila säger i en kommentar att lågkonjunkturen påverkat verksamheten inom flera områden under 2009 och att det råder fortsatt osäkerhet om hur konjunkturen kommer att utvecklas under 2010.

”Elisa's profitability and result developed favorably in 2009. The steep decline in the Finnish economy had some impact on the use of communications services. The recession was mostly reflected in corporate customer operations, equipment sales and roaming revenue. Although there have been some signs of recovery, uncertainties still exist in the development of the general economy. Competition in the Finnish telecommunications market also continues to be challenging. In 2010, we will determinedly continue to develop our operations to improve customer satisfaction and productivity even further. An expanding service offering and our capability to invest create a good base for the future."
